The rules we hold ourselves to

• Every recommendation that could earn us money is labeled “Sponsored.”
• An offer beside your plan appears only when your own numbers suggest it could help, for example when a loan at a realistic rate would cost you less interest than the plan you have.
• That check runs in your browser. Your debts are not sent to us or to the company behind the offer.
• The calculator's math never changes because of a commission, and offers are never ranked by how much they pay us.
• If your payments can't keep up with your interest, we point you to nonprofit credit counseling first.
